Dear Visitors and Guests,

Gordonia Alatamaha State park is on Highway 280 West, inside the city limits of Reidsville, Georgia. As we tell any visitor that asks how to find the park, "we're just past the Dairy Queen."

The Park is completely surrounded by houses, but as you drive into the tree-lined entrance you forget you are in a inhabited city. The entrance road opens up into a beautiful state park. The first thing you see is a large playground area for all the children to enjoy. There is a basketball goal and a volleyball net, miniature golf, a swimming pool, 4 open picnic shelters, 1 enclosed picnic shelter (with AC and heat), many picnic tables for everyone's use, and a 12 acre lake with fishing and paddle boats. Last, but certainly not least, is the campground. We have 29 campsites for RV's and tents; all have water, electricity, picnic table and a grill. Five have sewage hookups (and we do have a dump station). There is a bath house in the center of the campground with restrooms, showers, washer and dryer units and a small playground. Most of our facilities are handicap accessible. At the far end of the park, just past the camping area, is Brazell's Creek Golf Course, a beautiful course that has many challenging holes.

About Brazell's Creek Golf Course at Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park

With rolling terrain, wetland carries and smooth Bermuda greens, Brazell's Creek Golf Course is a shotmaker's course. The course will re-open in the summer of 2008 with a new layout and an additional nine holes.

Georgia's famed golf course architect, Denis Griffiths has designed an entirely new course for the southeast Georgia locale. With over thirty five years of golf course designs throughout the world, Denis Griffiths and Associates has firmly established a reputation for solid, challenging and enjoyable courses.

Minimal changes to the existing terrain and careful integration of course design with the surroundings is essential to Griffiths' philosophy. Course designs must be enjoyable, memorable, and resilient with a touch of the uncertain. That will hold especially true for Brazell's Creek, since it's located near wetlands and the lay of the land is very unique. The 18-hole course is located in Reidsville, just south of Interstate 16 and a bit east of Vidalia.
