OMC - Tattnall's Swing Bed Program is available to patients' family members who want to provide extended medical care for their loved ones. While in the Swing Bed Program, patients will continue to receive medical care follow-up by their Primary Care Physician. Special daily activities for patients include physical, social and religious activities, arts and crafts, diversional, and intellectual activities. All Swing Bed patients, particularly those bedridden or unable to participate in group activities, will be visited by the Activities Director and/or volunteers three or more times a week. Services also available to our Swing Bed patients include assistance with special needs and daily living activities. For those patients who are physically unable to accomodate a regular rehabilitation program, we provide rehabilitation at a more comparable pace and activity according to their age and physical ability. Tattnall County Health Department
Health department staff working hard to keep our community safe and healthy
The Tattnall County Health Department knows preventing illnesses is the best method to ensure safe and healthy communities. The health department staff works hard to meet the health care demands of Tattnall County. Through many important programs, the staff is able to help residents live healthier and safer lives.
The health department serves nearly 30 percent of Tattnall County residents annually. Serving a population spread over 484 square miles, Tattnall County Health Department has two full time health clinics with locations in Reidsville and Glennville. The health department is a part of the Southeast Health District, with a district office in Waycross. Health departments receive state (approximately 40%) and local funding (11%), but must generate approximately 30% of the funds for operation through fees. The local FY2009 budget is $831,000.
"We work hard to meet the needs of our community," said Kay Davis, Tattnall County Health Department nurse manager. "Our clients rely on us for many services." The mission of the health department is to promote and protect the health of Tattnall County residents-uniting with individuals, families and the community to improve and enhance their quality of life. The methods by which we accomplish this mission are varied: from Emergency Preparedness and planning for Pandemic Flu--to Epidemiology and the prevention of the spread of diseases such as tuberculosis--to Environmental Health and the inspection of local restaurants, septic systems and wells.
In 2007, Tattnall County Health Department provided over 6,000 routine immunizations for children and adults as well as nearly 1500 Flu shots. The health department's immunization rate for 2-3-year olds was 95 percent. The health department serves over 800 women through their Family Planning and cancer screening programs, as well as nearly 1300 women, infants and children in the WIC program. These are just a few of the many services the staff offers. Other programs include a unique Farm Fresh WIC program, Health Checks for children and many others.
K'Trina Geiger, RN is the Glennville site manager. Synita Doomes, RN and clerical/interpreter staff including Jo Ann Anderson, Marcella Mincey, Evelyn Estrada, Gisela Hernandez, Jean Ulbrich and Samantha Durrence complete the staff at the Glennville site.
Sandra Mincey, RN is the Reidsville site manager. Jennifer Hughes, RN and clerical/interpreter staff including Maria Perez, Debbie Smith and Teresa Stanfield complete the Reidsville staff. Lance Dasher provides Environmental Health services for Tattnall County. Kay Davis, RN is the nurse manager for both sites.

Drive, is a 92 bed skilled nursing facility. Tattnall Healthcare offers a
home-like environment and personalized medical, nursing, and rehabilitative
care.
An experienced professional staff oversees the following services
provided to the residents: on-site physician services, 24-hour skilled nursing
care, pharmacy services, physical speech and occupational therapy,
assistance with daily activity living, and three nutritious meals a day.
A variety of activities is provided including: Worship Services, Bingo, Ice Cream
Socials, Arts and Crafts, Musical Exercise, Movies, and Field Trips.
Tattnall Healthcare also offers beauty and barber services.

Glenvue Health & Rehabilitation is a 160 resident skilled nursing facility, located on Highway 301 in Glennville, Georgia. The Glenvue Health & Rehabilitation admits without regard to race, color, national origin or handicap (physical or mental). The steps for admission are evaluated by an admission team which ensures the facility can meet the resident's needs.
The Glenvue Health & Rehabilitation is staffed with Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) who monitor the residents 24 hours a day and contact the physicians when appropriate. The Glenvue Health & Rehabilitation is also staffed with licenses professionals in physical, speech and occupational therapy. These professionals evaluate each resident and ensure each receive the appropriate therapy. When resident's therapy goals have been met, Glenvue Health & Rehabilitation has a Restorative Nursing Program to help maintain functional abilities and prevent decline.
